Chandina Police in Comilla arrested three individuals during a special operation conducted over the last 24 hours. The arrestees include one accused in a previous case and two drug addicts sentenced by a mobile court. Chandina Police confirmed the matter through a press release on Sunday (August 30).
Police reported that as part of their regular drive, Motaleb (45), son of the late Md. Munnaf from Tamta village in Chandina Upazila, was arrested in connection with a previous case. He was subsequently sent to jail through the learned court.
Meanwhile, in a separate drive, two youths were arrested for consuming drugs and produced before a mobile court. The court sentenced each of them to 5 days of simple imprisonment along with a fine of 100 Taka. The convicts are Hasan Mahmud (30), son of Abdul Malek from Madarpur village, and Md. Suman (21), son of Mohibullah from Kortala village under the same upazila. Following the sentencing, they were sent to Comilla Central Jail.
Police stated that such special operations against narcotics and to maintain law and order will continue.
