Dangerous Propaganda Against BNP: Rizvi

Despite the ongoing nationwide BNP primary membership renewal campaign, the ruling party is spreading dangerous propaganda, alleged BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. In a press release issued on Monday (September 22), Rizvi said that since August 5, a planned smear campaign has been launched against BNP. He claimed this is an attempt to create an uneven political field similar to the “Minus Two” formula during the 1/11 period. He further alleged that students at Dhaka University were deceived in the recent DUCSU elections, raising public concern about possible conspiracies in the education sector. Ahead of the Rajshahi University election, he claimed, the “quota issue” was deliberately brought forward in a planned manner.Rizvi also commented that while it is a matter of pride for the nation that Tulip Siddiq became a Member of Parliament in the UK, she lost her ministerial post due to alleged corruption ties. Despite having passport and identity-related evidence, she continues to deny the allegations, he added. He further alleged that individuals close to Sheikh Hasina are involved in fraud abroad, while controversial bureaucrat Mokhlesur Rahman has been retained on a contractual basis. According to him, the government is trying to control the administration by appointing members of a particular political party as Deputy Commissioners (DC) and Superintendents of Police (SP).Rizvi questioned how someone accused of corruption could be appointed to a crucial body like the Planning Commission. He accused the government of attempting to control the administration to prevent BNP’s victory in the upcoming national elections. However, he expressed hope that such efforts from within the administration would ultimately fail.Rejecting fears of provocation or violence centering on the upcoming Durga Puja, Rizvi called upon BNP leaders and activists to remain alert.
