Desk News || Former vice chairman of Shibganj Upazila Parishad in Bogra and organizing secretary of the Upazila Awami League, Rizzakul Islam Raju, has been accused of being beaten up by the police and handcuffed.The incident took place in the Chakbhola Khan area of ​​the upazila around 9 pm on Saturday (September 4).Police said that Awami League leader Raju had gone to attend the wedding ceremony of his cousin Shah Alam near his house in his village on Saturday night. On receiving the information, five members led by SI Al Mamun of the police went to arrest him. After arresting Raju, hundreds of his relatives attacked the police while they were taking him to the police station in handcuffs.At one stage, they snatched Raju from the police while he was handcuffed. Three police members were injured when the relatives of the Awami League leader beat him up.There are 16 cases against Raju, including murder and attempted murder, in the anti-discrimination student movement. He has been absconding since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.In this regard, Bogra Additional Superintendent of Police Atwar Rahman said, "Currently, a raid is being conducted around the village. The accused will be arrested soon and brought to justice."
