Workers and supporters of BNP and its affiliated organizations have held a protest rally in Shahrasti, Chandpur, declaring National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari as unwanted for allegedly making derogatory comments against BNP and national leaders.The procession started from Kaliapara Bazar in Shahrasti municipality at 4:30 pm on Saturday (September 27) and ended at Shahrasti Gate Doabhanga area after circumambulating the Chandpur-Comilla regional highway.In addition to local BNP leaders and activists, angry people also participated in it. Participants in the rally declared Nasiruddin Patwari as unwanted and burned his effigy.The protesters warned, "In the coming days, Nasiruddin Patwari will be resisted all the way on Shahrasti soil. This Nasir's address will not be in Shahrasti." We are declaring him unwelcome from today's protest rally.'The speakers alleged that Nasiruddin Patwari recently made indecent remarks about the proclaimer of independence and promoter of multi-party democracy, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.They said that such derogatory remarks about the top leaders of the national party are very sad and condemnable.They alleged that Nasir is making irresponsible statements in an attempt to build his political future. In the name of expressing his opinion on national issues, he is making himself controversial by making unspeakable remarks about BNP leaders. The speakers claimed that the hearts of millions of BNP leaders and activists have been hurt by this.They warned Nasir to refrain from such provocative statements in the future.Youth leader Masud Kabir, labor leader Manik Hossain, student leader Mohin Uddin Zia, Farhad Hossain, and volunteer party leader Mahmudul Hasan Kiron, among others, addressed the rally moderated by youth leader Mohiuddin Bahar.It is worth noting that Nasiruddin Patwari's home is in Ullashwar village, Rayshri Uttar Union, Shahrasti Upazila, Chandpur.
