Former joint general secretary of the National Volunteer Party and former Dhaka University student leader Quader Halimi, along with party leaders and activists, sought votes from the general public in support of Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP nominated candidate Mahbuber Rahman Shamim and the party symbol rice sheaves in Nabipur Bazar, Jalil Commander Bazar, Ali Bazar and Rast Matha Bazar of Harni Union in Hatia, an isolated island upazila of Noakhali.

He started this public relations campaign since yesterday evening. First, he sought votes from the general public for rice sheaves at the local BNP office in Ali Bazar of Harni Union with leaders and activists of local BNP units and associate organizations. After that, he gradually participated in public relations campaigns in Nabipur Bazar, Jalil Commander Bazar, and Rast Matha Bazar.

At that time, Quader Halimi said, "None of us have the opportunity to go beyond the paddy sheaf. This symbol of paddy belongs to all of us. Moreover, the one who has been nominated as the paddy sheaf candidate is also a qualified person. He is the organizing secretary of the BNP's Chittagong divisional committee. Many will say a lot, but we cannot go beyond the party's decision. We will all work together and by making the paddy sheaf a winner, we will gift this seat to Begum Khaleda Zia and acting chairman Tarique Rahman, InshaAllah." At that time, he expressed his gratitude to Begum Khaleda Zia for declaring Harni and Chanandi as Hatiar Unions.

Also present at the mass meeting were Central Olamadal member and former religious affairs secretary of Noakhali District Chhatra Dal Faruk Al Fahad, Hatia Upazila Fishermen's Party joint convener Ashraful Islam, Musa Kalim Ullah, Osman Gani Bulbul, Upazila Volunteer Party joint convener Nizamuddin, Adabor Thana Volunteer Party leader Lavlu Mia, Zia Mancha leader Jamsedul Islam Tutul, Noakhali College Chhatra Dal leaders Sumon, Hasan, Union Volunteer Party leaders Tajul Islam Maya, Mohammad Shahin, Fishermen's Party leader Dr. Fayel, Ward 8 BNP president Helal Jamal, Fishermen's Party convener candidate Pitu, Tati Party's Bablu, District Volunteer Party leader Selim and others.
