US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order on the security of Qatar, a country in the Middle East Gulf region. Trump said that if there is an attack on Qatar, the United States will consider it a 'threat to its peace and security'.
The White House announced this information on Wednesday (October 1).
Three weeks ago, the occupying Israel attacked top Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital Doha. Qatar was very angry about this. Then, on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly apologized to Qatar.
After that, Trump issued an executive order on the security of Qatar.
As part of an initiative to stop the war between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, the Israeli media reported that Trump has issued an executive order on Qatar, as part of an initiative to stop the war between Hamas and Israel, according to the Times of Israel.
Trump's executive order indicates that if there is an attack on Qatar in the future, the United States will respond strongly.
The order states that in the event of any attack, the United States will take all legal and appropriate measures to ensure the security of Qatar and the United States. This will include diplomatic, economic and, if necessary, military action.
The order also states that senior US officials will ensure rapid and coordinated action in the event of an aggressive attack on Qatar by a foreign state.
There is a US air base in Qatar called Al-Udeid. It is the largest US base in the entire Middle East. Last June, during the war between Iran and the occupying Israel, the US attacked Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran fired missiles at the Al-Udeid base. Although this was very limited.
In addition, the US president recognized Qatar's mediation role in resolving international conflicts as important.
