The Global Peace Flotilla is heading towards the Gaza Strip. The flotilla consists of 45 ships, with around 500 activists from 40 countries participating.The ships of the Peace Flotilla have now passed the point where environmentalist Greta Thunberg and others were previously detained by the occupying Israeli forces.The Global Peace Flotilla confirmed this in a post on Telegram on Wednesday (October 1). They said that despite Israeli obstacles, their convoy of ships is moving towards Gaza.The Global Peace Flotilla said that they are moving forward with a renewed determination to break Israel’s illegal naval blockade of Gaza, deliver aid to the people of Gaza, and maintain non-violent solidarity with the people there.The Global Peace Flotilla said that all ships and activists on the flotilla are safe. They said, “Everyone is safe now. We are far away from where the Madeleine ship was intercepted. We are on alert.” Greta Thunberg and many other rights activists were on the ship.Meanwhile, Israeli media outlet Ynet reported that the Israeli navy is preparing to intercept the ships. They plan to attack the rights activists and seize the ships.Hospitals around the port of Ashdod have been asked to make extensive preparations due to fears that there may be casualties among the rights activists during the seizure of the ships.On the other hand, Israel has deployed about 500 police officers to the port of Ashdod to intercept them.Ynet reported that soldiers from the Israeli navy’s elite unit Saetet 13 will take control of the ships when they approach Gaza. At that time, the entire navy will be involved.The report said that the rights activists will be taken to the port of Ashdod by loading them onto an Israeli navy ship. They will then be taken to Ketziot prison. Those who comply with the Israelis' instructions will be sent back to their own countries. Those who do not comply will be kept in prison.Some of the seized ships will be brought to the port of Ashdod.
