Tarique Rahman calls for spreading message of harmony along with celebrating festivals

On the occasion of the main religious festival of the traditional religion, Sharadiya Durga Puja, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended his heartfelt greetings to the Hindu community in Bangladesh and the world.

In his greeting message, he said that the beauty of the religious and social values of Bangladesh in the present era is the mutual friendship, harmony, amity and brotherhood of people of different religions.

On the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja, Tarique Rahman on Sunday (September 28) urged the Hindu community to celebrate the festival peacefully and spread the message of amity and harmony.

Tarique Rahman said that our state and constitution have guaranteed the security of every person regardless of party, opinion, religion and caste. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the state to provide security to every citizen of Bangladesh.

Quoting the holy hadith on religious harmony, Tarique Rahman said, "I will stand against the person who tortures or violates the rights of a non-Muslim who is protected by the state, on the Day of Judgment."

Stating that there were attempts to create a communal situation around the Sharidya festival during the fascist regime, Tarique Rahman said that the law enforcement agencies must be alert and vigilant so that such a situation does not arise again.

On behalf of the BNP, once again extending greetings on the occasion of Sharidya Durga Puja, he said, "We believe that religion belongs to everyone, and the state belongs to everyone. Religion belongs to everyone, and everyone has the right to security."
